How It Works

To start, users supply their chosen assets and the amount they wish to lend. This earns them interest, which can be used to offset borrowing costs when they need to borrow against their supplied assets. User funds are stored in a public, open-source smart contract on the BNB Chain, ensuring transparency and security.

• Lending and Borrowing: Users can lend and borrow various crypto-assets efficiently using the native money market on BNB Chain and opBNB Chain.
• Assets Supported: The platform supports an array of assets, including BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT, and BNB.
• Risk Management: To minimize risk, the platform employs Isolated Pools, which are independent collections of assets with custom risk management configurations. This prevents failures in one market from impacting others.
• Liquidation Process: If a borrower's Health Factor falls to 1 or lower, their loan is eligible for liquidation. Liquidators can repay up to 50% of the borrowing debt, claiming collateral at a bonus.
• Revenue Streams: The protocol generates revenue through fees on reserve factors and DEX rewards on farming activities.

Security and Audits

Segment Finance prioritizes security, with its codebase audited by external experts and formally verified. Additionally, it maintains a risk fund for each pool to counterbalance bad debt and prevent market insolvencies.
