Run is a project aimed at making Solana more developer-friendly by providing a simple four-step process to launch projects quickly and scale them efficiently. The goal is to create a more comprehensive and user-friendly infrastructure, similar to Ethernet Virtual Machines but optimized for Solana. This will enable developers to port Ethereum applications onto Solana seamlessly, leveraging Solana's performance and liquidity while reducing gas fees and increasing throughput. This project intends to build a BETTER Infura for Solana by bridging the gap between familiar Ethereum tooling and Solana's unique architecture.
The project is designed to overcome the existing hurdles faced by developers attempting to transition from Ethereum to Solana. One such challenge involves familiarity and usage of new tools, as the majority of existing Web3 infrastructure has been built on Ethereum. Therefore, the project aims to provide a smoother developer experience by allowing direct porting of Ethereum-based applications onto Solana without requiring significant changes. This would make it easier for developers to scale projects more quickly and effectively, using Solana's advantages such as parallel execution of transactions and lower gas fees.
