The protocol employs a combination of operator nodes and smart contracts to ensure the best risk/reward restaking strategy for users.
Functions
Renzo provides liquidity to users through the ezETH token, which can be traded against WETH, effectively addressing liquidity constraints associated with seven-day withdrawal periods on EigenLayer. This allows users to generate a higher yield across various decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
Governance Token
Renzo’s native governance token is REZ, which has a total supply of 10 billion tokens. The token empowers holders to vote on governance proposals, covering issues such as operator and AVS whitelisting, risk management frameworks, community and treasury grants, and more.
Token Distribution
The distribution of REZ tokens is as follows:
- 31% for investors
- 32% for the community
- 20% for core contributors
- 12.44% for the foundation
- 2.5% for the Binance Launchpool
- 1.5% for liquidity provision
Following a one-year cliff, the remaining tokens will vest linearly, with different vesting schedules applied to various groups.
