Overview
Quasar ($QSR) works together with Zenon ($ZNN) to power the dual-coin economy of the Zenon Network, a decentralized ledger technology. $QSR is used to generate Plasma, which allows for higher transaction throughput. Additionally, both $ZNN and $QSR are used as collateral for Spwan Pillar and Sentinel nodes. $QSR can be considered a 'gas generator' for all network operations.
Usage
- Provides security to the chain through its use in Quasar's proof-of-stake consensus.
- Pays for transaction fees on the Quasar chain, which are rewarded to validators.
- Facilitates vault creation by staking to network validators.
- Enables chain-level governance through voting on protocol upgrades and setting base transaction fees.
- Participates in Q-Treasury governance for setting swap fees and voting on vault incentives.
Role in Governance
The $QSR token acts as a governance token, allowing token holders to propose, vet, and pass upgrades and changes to the protocol.
