QuarkChain is a scalable, decentralized blockchain that uses sharding technology to deliver over 1 million transactions per second (tps). QuarkChain encourages decentralization through multiple cheap nodes that form a cluster, acting as a super-full node. This avoids the high costs associated with super-full nodes when the tps is high. Transactions within QuarkChain are protected with 50 percent of the network’s hash power, making a double-spending attack challenging. QuarkChain is in two layers - a primary layer of sharding blockchains known as shards, and a second root blockchain layer that confirms the shards’ blocks. It aims to solve scalability issues affecting existing networks while enhancing the use of blockchain technology. The project is currently in progress, with significant progress observed and potential shown in its invite-based beta testing for the testnet.
