Proxy
Proxy is a protocol designed to enable the decentralized tokenization of Bitcoin onto Ethereum and Polygon networks. This is achieved through a permissionless Bitcoin bridge utilizing two tokens: PRXY, the utility token, and BTCPX, the Bitcoin wrapper.
The PRXY token facilitates decentralized governance and is used for the minting and redemption of the BTCPX token. The BTCPX token is an institutional-grade wrapped Bitcoin solution that leverages Polygon technology, providing no gas fees and no slippage. This solution also incorporates insured custody through partnership with Hex Trust to ensure secure asset management.
One of the key features of Proxy is its ability to reduce transaction costs and eliminate slippage, thereby minimizing counterparty risk. This is achieved through the ProxyRelay solution, which involves confirming Bitcoin blocks onto an Ethereum smart contract using a MATIC side chain, resulting in gasless minting of BTCPX and expedited redemption fees within 30 minutes.
