Overview
The ZED token is a utility native ERC-20 token deployed on both the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains. It is part of the seignorage protocol named Project ZED, aiming to provide passive income opportunities to participants while maintaining a peg to the price of $1.
Distribution
The total supply of ZED tokens is one billion (1,000,000,000). The tokens are allocated into several groups, including Team, Backers, Advisors, ZED RUN Existing Users, Play-and-Earn Rewards Treasury, Ecosystem Fund, ZED Token Liquidity, and ZED Token Treasury. The allocation breakdown and release schedules are outlined in the official whitepaper.
Usage
The ZED token serves as the main utility token and in-game currency for ZED RUN, a popular play-to-earn digital horse racing game. It is designed to support the growth of the ZED RUN ecosystem, encouraging new users to join and rewarding existing community members and stable owners based on their ownership and activity.
Release and Liquidity
The tokens are released linearly into circulation over a 48-month period. A portion of the supply is reserved for liquidity and to initiate market-making opportunities. The release schedule and distribution breakdown can be found in the whitepaper.
Governance
The ZED Token governance is designed to be community-led, with token holders able to vote on proposals and participate in the decision-making process.
