Description
PolyQuity is a decentralized borrowing protocol offering interest-free loans and high capital efficiency on the Polygon network. It uses a USD-pegged stablecoin called PUSD, which can be minted by depositing collateral (Matic) and redeemed against the underlying collateral at face value.
Borrowing Mechanics
- Trove Management: Users manage their loans by adding or removing collateral (Matic) and handling their debt. Each Polygon address can have only one Trove.
- Borrowing Fee: A one-off fee, varying between 0.5% and 5%, is charged as a percentage of the borrowed amount, depending on PUSD redemption volume.
- Interest-Free Loans: PolyQuity does not charge recurring fees for borrowing.
Stability Mechanism
- Stability Pool: This pool acts as a cushion to maintain platform stability. Depositors earn rewards in PYQ tokens.
- Staking PYQ: Staking PYQ enables users to earn fee revenue and capture protocol income.
Additional Features
- Redemption: Users can redeem PUSD against underlying collateral at face value if the PUSD peg falls below $1.
- Liquidation Reserve: An amount set aside to cover liquidators' gas costs if a Trove needs to be liquidated.
- Recovery Mode: If the Total Collateral Ratio falls below 150%, Troves can be liquidated if their collateral ratio is below the TCR.
