PERI Finance Overview
PERI Finance is a decentralized protocol offering synthetic issuance and derivative exchange functionality across multiple blockchain networks. Presently deployed on Polkadot, it allows users the ability to involve themselves with a wide variety of traditional finance and crypto assets via synthetic products without any constraints. The protocol addresses common pain points in DeFi projects on Ethereum such as high GAS fees, slow transactions, and potential attacks by leveraging Layer 2 with Optimistic Virtual Machine (OVM).
Synthetic Assets and Derivatives
The protocol allows users to create synthetic assets (Pynths) that mirror the price of the underlying assets. Currently, PERI offers synthetic assets for Forex, cryptocurrencies, and commodities. These assets can be leveraged by staking PERI tokens and minting pUSD, the stablecoin used within the platform. Through PERI Finance, users can freely swap between different assets and maintain long or short positions on leveraged contracts underlying these assets without any restrictions.
