OriginTrail aims to build a trustworthy knowledge foundation for managing and sharing information. The OriginTrail Parachain is a specialized blockchain for Artificial Intelligence that enhances the capabilities of the Decentralized Knowledge Graph, incentivizing growth for real-world use. The OriginTrail ecosystem employs Web3 technologies and is supported by the tokenomics design of the OriginTrail DKG and OriginTrail Parachain.

The OriginTrail Parachain serves a variety of real-world purposes, including securing 40% of US imports, improving transparency in the EV industry, aiding knowledge exchange in pharmaceutical supply chains, and promoting sustainability in the European construction sector among others. The system is supported by partnerships with leading software and cloud providers such as Google, Oracle, Digital Ocean and their Web2 product suites.

The OTP token is created with the launch of the OriginTrail Parachain on the Polkadot network and it serves a variety of purposes, including incentivizing knowledge creators, paying for the transactions and smart contracts, encouraging collators, serving as collateral for collators, enabling OTP holders to delegate their tokens to collators, and voting on proposals.

Aside from the above utilities, the OTP token is also a fungible token within the Polkadot ecosystem, and can be transacted across different Parachains and used in smart contracts. In addition to its role in the function of the OriginTrail Parachain, OTP also includes DKG incentives to maximize user appeal and encourage adoption of the OriginTrail.
