Orbitcoin (ORB) is a decentralized hybrid digital currency utilizing both proof-of-work (PoW) and proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithms. It is the first coin to implement 0% PoS staking. The project aims to facilitate transactions on both the regular internet and darknets like I2P/Tor. Orbitcoin employs advanced security measures such as time warp and instamining protection, and it supports transaction messaging. The network has a hybrid PoW/PoS system with a combined block target of 2 minutes, with 0.25 ORB rewards for both PoW and PoS blocks. The coin is designed to have very low transaction fees and supports free transactions. Orbitcoin was launched on July 30, 2013.
