Notional Finance is a decentralized, Ethereum-based protocol for borrowing and lending at fixed rates and fixed terms. This protocol addresses the limitations of variable rate lending, providing certainty for lenders and borrowers in the crypto lending market.
Notional enables users to borrow or lend assets such as USDC, DAI, ETH, and WBTC for various terms, up to one year. The protocol's V2 upgrade introduces nTokens, which are ERC20 tokens representing a user's share of the liquidity pool. This feature automates the rolling of debts to new maturities, providing a low-touch experience for liquidity providers.
Following a $10 million Series A funding round from top investors including Coinbase Ventures, the Notional protocol relaunched with new features and the NOTE governance token. This token grants holders the ability to propose, vote on, and implement changes to Notional system parameters and smart contracts.
