The Metaverse Index Token (MVI) is a digital asset index designed to track the performance of tokens within the Metaverse industry. The index is weighted based on the value of each token's circulating supply and liquidity. It aims to track Metaverse projects in a decentralized universe that show a commitment to ongoing maintenance and development. The MVI uses a combination of square root of market cap and liquidity weighting to arrive at the final index weights, with token weights calculated using the following formula: TW = 75% * RMCW + 25% * LW, where TW is the token weight in the MVI, RMCW is the square root of market cap weighted allocation, and LW is the liquidity weighted allocation.

The Metaverse Index is implemented on Set Protocol on the Ethereum mainnet and includes tokens within Coingecko's nonfungible tokens (NTFs), entertainment, virtual reality, augmented reality, and music categories that have market caps in excess of $30 million and at least three months of trading history. The index is maintained quarterly, with adjustments to its components made during the reconstitution phase.
