About Massa
Massa is a decentralized and scalable Layer 1 blockchain designed to tackle the blockchain trilemma of scalability, decentralization, and security without compromise. It utilizes the Nakamoto coefficient, aiming to achieve a coefficient of over 1,000, and is capable of reaching 10,000 tx/s.
Unique Features
Massa stands out with its high level of decentralization, boasting over 7,000 nodes running on its testnet, making it the most decentralized testnet globally. Two core features at its heart are Autonomous Smart-Contracts and Web3 On-Chain, ensuring apps are deployed on thousands of computers worldwide and operate autonomously without censorship or hacking risks.
History
Massa was created in 2020, originating from a project founded by three friends in 2017. Notable investors like BlueYard, Acecap, Numeus, and Ariane Capital supported the project with an initial investment of 5 million euros.
Roadmap
After a successful testnet, Massa is set to launch its mainnet in Q3. The project aims to incentivize users to bridge tokens towards Massa dApps by offering additional yield on liquidity providers. The Massa Foundation, established in Switzerland, will orchestrate ecosystem developments, manage community initiatives, and facilitate open forums where proposals from token holders will be debated to ensure decentralized decision-making.
Token Utilization
The Massa token's main purpose is for paying fees on the blockchain, and it will also serve future governance purposes.
