Its hub and outpost architecture allows operations across multiple chains. To enhance security and governance, Mars uses permissionless validation. The Mars Hub, secured by up to 50 permissionless validators, serves as a coordination point for governance, staking, and network expansion through Red Bank Outposts. Users can borrow and lend leading Cosmos tokens, plus enjoy fee-sharing. Using embedded rewards mechanisms, Mars enables ecosystem participants to coordinate and leverage governance features. In the governance process, MARS tokens are used for staking and governing outpost features and risk parameters. The Mars Protocol focuses on non-custodial borrowing and lending across both the Cosmos and broader DeFi space.
