0L Network, forked from Facebook's Libra codebase in 2020, is designed as an open, community-driven, and regulatory-pure version known as "Open Libra". This project encompasses the best aspects of Diem technology and involves a diverse community of creators and entrepreneurs working together to build a meritocratic, egalitarian coin.
Since its Mainnet genesis in October 2021, the 0L Network has gone through significant upgrades, most recently in December 23', that integrated coding advancements from the Aptos team. The project introduces a set-of policies setting the economic mechanism, including a novel Proof-of-Fee system to fairly and inclusively manage validator selection.
The project had a fair launch without pre-mined coins, investors, or venture capital support, symbolizing a strictly meritocratic approach to its economy.
