LGCY Network is a decentralized network built on the principles of a Layer 1, proof-of-stake blockchain. The network implements the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) consensus algorithm and operates on the Libertas Protocol. It is designed to provide a fast and low-cost transaction environment, with its Supernova Mainnet capable of handling 10,000 transactions per second at an average cost of $0.01 per transaction.
The network's governance system employs a unique approach by splitting the 27 Governing Bodies (GBs) into three branches, thereby limiting the power of each and introducing terms to ensure that no individual or entity can accumulate unbalanced power. This system aims to achieve true decentralization.
LGCY Network uses its own Stable Gas Token called USDL to power the network. Users who delegate their LGCY tokens to GBs receive payouts in USDL. The network also includes a developers' fund consisting of a permanent stake of 33 billion tokens, which will support the development of decentralized applications (dApps).
