The initiative, LandX Governance Token (LNDX), ensures that stakeholders' interests are aligned with the project by offering a percentage of protocol fees to token holders, further incentivizing their participation.
The agricultural commodities are brought onto the blockchain as ERC-20 tokens, known as xTokens, and are represented on-chain as commodities (cTokens) such as wheat, soy, rice, and corn. Each commodity token represents 1 kilogram of the respective product, providing investors with tangible ownership of real-world assets.
Technology utilized includes LandX's Perpetual Commodity Vaults, which ensure consistent yield payments. Validators play a crucial role in identifying suitable farmland opportunities while using tools like geospatial imagery and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) to measure and validate farmland productivity.
The governance model for LandX is structured around a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) with voting rights belonging to LNDX token holders. These token holders are beneficiaries of the LandX Foundation and are central to decision-making processes in the platform.
By combining these elements, LandX aims to provide sustainable and uncorrelated investment opportunities while bridging the agricultural financing gap.
