Krios was an elder Titan in Greek mythology, son of Ouranos (Uranus, Sky) and Gaia (Gaea, Earth). He played a key role in the ambush against his father, helping to hold him in place with his brothers Koios (Coeus), Hyperion, and Iapetos (Iapetus).

Genealogical Connection

Krios was married to Eurybia, a daughter of the sea. Together, they had three sons: Astraios, Pallas, and Perses. Astraios was the god of the stars, while Pallas and Perses had connections with other constellations such as Auriga and Perseus.

Mythological Significance

Krios was an important figure during the Titanomachy, a ten-year battle between the Titans and the Olympian gods. He was ultimately banished to Tartarus, a lower level of Hades, after the Titans lost the war.
