Kokomo is a lending protocol specifically designed to aid users in lending and borrowing digital assets. Built on Optimism, this smart contract protocol allows for the loans' details such as interest rates, repayment schedules, and collateral requirements to be enforced. After an automated process verifies borrowing requests, funds are automatically transferred and repayment is tracked on the blockchain.

Kokomo is unique as it allows users to borrow cryptocurrencies and stablecoins on Optimism without a credit check and fast origination. It also enables users to supply these assets to earn a variable APY for liquidity provision. The Kokomo Token ($KOKO) governs the protocol and was launched with a focus on fair community distribution.

Currently, Kokomo has launched on Optimism with five mainstream crypto assets for borrowing and lending, including ETH, WBTC, USDC, USDT, and DAI. The next step for the project is to cross over to Arbitrum while expanding the number of pools open for lending and borrowing. Kokomo Token also has potential future benefits for holders such as withdrawal fee discounts in Kokomo V2.
