K21 Overview
K21 is a closed-end art vault that offers liquid exposure to a curated collection of 21 unique and original NFT artworks created by a diverse range of influential contemporary, digital, and cryptonative artists. This ecosystem is engineered for composability, durability, and equity, establishing a new protocol for art.
The Collection
The vault contains 21 first-of-a-kind NFT artworks, including the first NFTs minted by both established and emerging art world luminaries. These artworks are preserved using Kanon's open-source protocol, KSPEC, which extends the ERC-721 NFT standard for long-term preservation and transparency.
Token Structure
The K21 ERC-20 token represents partial ownership of the vault collection. There are 21 million tokens in total, with roughly half used to purchase artworks and support social causes. The community is allocated 21% of the tokens through various mechanisms. Token holders have the right to vote against the buyout of the entire vault and receive a pro-rata share of the proceeds if the buyout is approved.
Fundamental Principles
K21 prioritizes equitable profit sharing for artists and social causes. The project integrates with decentralized finance to align incentives between artists and investors, promoting mutual benefit. A portion of the tokens is allocated to artists, while some are donated to support socially relevant causes determined by the artists.
