JustCarbon Governance Tokens (JCGs) are the native governance tokens of the JustCarbon system. They exist as utility tokens within the Ethereum-based JustCarbon platform, which facilitates the funding of carbon dioxide removal through a blockchain-backed system for friction-free trading of carbon-backed tokens (JCRs).
Key Features
• Decentralized Governance: JCGs support the Decentralized Autonomous Organisation (DAO) that operates the JustCarbon platform. • Community Control: No single body or country owns or controls the JustCarbon system. • Voting and Rewards: JCGs enable voting for supporters/users of the platform and reward them for their participation. • Trading Benefits: Holders of JCGs receive trading discounts. • Token Distribution: The total supply of JCG tokens is capped at 1 billion, with 10% available at launch and the remaining 90% allocated and vested over a 10-year period.
System Functions
• JCR Management: The DAO manages the JCR token. • Token Allocation: Initial participants receive JCG tokens as a gift.
