IONC is the official token of IONChain, a blockchain network aimed at improving the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem. The maximum supply is 800 million tokens, to be released over a 20-year period. After 20 years, an administrative committee will decide whether more tokens should be issued, based on various factors. The token is used to reward IoT devices and data providers in the ecosystem and its supply increases yearly in line with demand for data access. The IONChain network also allows IoT devices to act as mining machines, thus rewarding users with tokens. With blockchain technology, data on IONChain is reliable, verifiable, quantified and transfers are fast and secure. This fosters the emergence of IoT standards and accelerates the industry's development.
