Hermes Protocol is a decentralized exchange (DEX) that allows users to trade volatile and pegged assets in a single venue. It was officially launched in February 2022 and began emissions in March 2022. The protocol incentivizes liquidity providers to add new gauges, boost gauge yields, vote on token emissions, and receive bribes. Liquidity providers can earn HERMES tokens based on their veHERMES balance, with a 100% weekly distribution weighted on votes from veHERMES holders. Those with no veHERMES balance can earn up to 40% of emissions. The protocol aims to provide low-cost, near-zero slippage trades on both correlated and uncorrelated assets, incentivizing fees instead of liquidity.
