GMA is a leading media organization that offers a diverse range of entertainment and news programming. The acronym GMA originally stood for Greater Manila Area, reflecting its initial coverage area. As the network expanded, the meaning of the acronym was updated to Global Media Arts.

Network Identity

GMA began as RBS TV Channel 7 in 1961 and underwent several name changes: GMA Radio-Television Arts (1974–1992), GMA Rainbow Satellite Network (1992–1995), and finally GMA Network (1995–present).

Logos

Throughout its history, GMA has used various logos, eventually adopting the current stylized heart-shape logo, commonly referred to as the "Kapuso" logo.

GMA Network Studios

GMA operates seven studios, housed in the GMA Network Center and the GMA Network Studio Annex.

GMA Regional TV

The regional division of GMA operates several local TV stations and produces newscasts for various areas. It also has a sub-division, Synergy: A GMA Collaboration, which handles sports and event productions.

Industry Presence
