Glove is a stablecoin protocol that has introduced "Wrapped USD" (WUSD), the first governance-free, immutable, multi-fiatcoin wrapper stablecoin for six USD fiatcoins: USDT, USDC, BUSD, USDP, TUSD, and GUSD. The protocol’s governance token is GLO. WUSD contracts are immutable because they do not support any function that can change their parameters.
WUSD and Governance
GLO is designed to allow users to trade or transfer it based on credit earned from the amount of WUSD wrapped. This mechanism ensures that people with significant exposure to WUSD tokens hold sway over the protocol's governance. Unlike other stablecoins such as DAI or FRAX, the immutability of WUSD ensures operational transparency and resistance to governance manipulation.
Background
Glove was born out of LobsterDAO's private chat and aims to get WUSD listed in notable DeFi protocols such as Aave and Curve.
