Ethena Staked USDe (SUSDE) is a token that allows users to stake their USDe token in exchange for a yield-bearing equivalent. Users can stake and unstake their USDe through the Ethena Labs dApp interface, which requires signing a transaction with their selected wallet. Upon successful confirmation, users receive sUSDe, which is atomically swapped with their staked USDe.

Users do not need to do anything additional to receive the yield; it accumulates within the staking contract. Yield is not paid directly to sUSDe holders. Instead, the value of sUSDe rises over time as the protocol yield is transferred into the Staking smart contract. This means that users will always receive an amount of USDe reflecting the staked amount plus any increase in value of sUSDe when they choose to unstake.

sUSDe is designed using a token vault mechanism, similar to Rocketpool's rETH, to provide protocol yield to permitted users. This ensures that the value of sUSDe will not decline, even during periods of negative yield. Any potential losses are expected to be covered by the Reserve Fund.

Overall, Ethena Staked USDe offers a decentralized, yield-generating staking mechanism that blends the stability of stablecoins with the censorship resistance of cryptocurrencies.
