Equilibrium is a comprehensive DeFi platform that is built on its own Polkadot parachain and is designed to be cross-chain compatible, offering features such as a money market with the lowest collateral requirements ever and a fully on-chain DEX for margin trading with leverage up to 20X. It employs a risk-based pricing structure and allows for portfolio margining with critical collateralization as low as 105%. The EQ token serves as a governance token, enabling holders to select Substrate validators and influence system changes. Fees for operations are paid in EQ and liquidity providers can earn yield by securing loans in the system by locking EQ in Equilibrium's liquidity pool. Additionally, borrowers can pledge EQ to take out loans, and EQ stakeholders receive rewards on their tokens staked to Equilibrium's governance.
