The ELMT Token is the ERC-20 token of the Element Blockchain, created to combat destructive mining practices worldwide. The token is not produced from an ICO, but is minted by the Element Blockchain as a digital reward for node license owners. The token has been bridged over to the Ethereum Network from the native Element Blockchain, which is governed by the Element Distributed Governance Framework. This framework is managed by the community of node owners. Element United, the company behind Element Blockchain, focuses on creating blockchain-related products and services, acting independently from the Blockchain. The company is also working in partnership with mines to create alternate revenue, develop blockchain-based products such as NFTs and gaming, and implement mining certification and tokenized carbon offset programs. The ELMT token's first bridge was launched on 4/21/23. The development team and headquarters are based in the U.S, with a sales team in Jakarta, Indonesia, and node owners globally. The ELMT token and the company's efforts have received media coverage.
