What is Eco?
Eco is a decentralized cryptocurrency with an independent monetary policy designed to evolve and support a growing economy. It operates on the principles of transparent governance and economic data, aiming to create a more aligned and user-centric currency system.
The Eco System
The Eco system consists of two tokens:
- $ECO: The core currency, governed by its community, with the primary goal of building an independent currency for saving and spending.
- $ECOx: The secondary token designed to bootstrap governance and liquidity within the Eco system.
Governance and Development
Eco features community-centric governance, where proposals are presented and voted upon by its users. The system allows for voting periods where ECO holders and staking ECOx holders can openly vote in favor of or against a proposal.
Insights and Goals
Eco aspires to bring cryptocurrency payments into mainstream usage by creating a payment system that is better than traditional payment systems. Recent technical advancements, such as smart contract wallets and rollups, now make it possible to develop user-friendly payment products like Beam, which offers fixed and low fees, instant onboarding, and eliminates complexities such as addresses or chains. Eco aims to ensure that cryptocurrency operates more transparently and in everyone’s best interests.
