Donut Tokens are an Ethereum main-net ERC-20 token that represents community contribution and engagement at the /r/ethtrader subreddit. They can be earned by participating and contributing content to the community. These tokens are a spendable, tradeable form of community points exclusive to the subreddit and can be used to purchase aesthetic perks through a subscription and advertising via the top banner. Additionally, Donuts can be tipped to other users and are used as vote weight in community governance polls.
Subreddit members receive Donuts in monthly batches, which can be received either on the Ethereum main net or opted for on the xDai sidechain. There are also available liquidity staking incentives for liquidity providers on Uniswap (Ethereum main net) and Honeyswap (xDai).
Donuts are one of the prototypes of Reddit's Community Points initiative, which has been expanded to other communities such as /r/cryptocurrency and /r/fortniteBR. They are symbolized by DONUT.
