Digix allows investors to buy gold in a secure and efficient manner by providing tokenized gold that doesn't require physical storage. Digix has two cryptocurrencies (DGX and DGD) and a Proof of Asset protocol, which use the benefits of distributed ledgers like immutability and auditability, giving customers confidence. The company gets its gold from LBMA-approved refiners with 3rd party auditing from Bureau Veritas. The DGD crowdsale was the first-ever DAO on the Ethereum network, with investors receiving rewards for pledging over 15,000 USD worth of Ether. The tokens are soon to be available on the Digix marketplace and the value of DGD rose during the cryptocurrency market crash in 2018, potentially as a safe haven during market uncertainty.
