5miles, a leading e-commerce company and app in the U.S., has launched a new blockchain platform called CyberMiles which facilitates accelerated e-commerce transactions. The company gained $30m in an Initial Coin Offering last November, selling 420 million CyberMiles Tokens (CMT). As of this summer, it is anticipated that the 5miles app and its 12 million users will begin accepting CMT as a form of payment, and by the end of the year the first version of its blockchain is due to be launched. 5miles is hoping that even a small fraction of its estimated $3bn annual revenue will be transacted in CMT, suggesting a potentially significant future for the token.
