Curecoin Description
Curecoin is a SHA-256 based cryptocurrency designed to support medical research. It incentivizes the donation of computational resources, such as GPUs and CPUs, to simulations and computational tasks in proteins and biological computations. This helps support research into curing diseases like cancer, Alzheimer's, Huntington's, and preventing viruses while advancing pharmaceutical design.
The Curecoin network allows earning coins in two ways:
- Folding: Use high-end GPUs and CPUs to fold proteins and earn a proportional amount of Curecoin based on the computing power contributed.
- Mining: SHA-256 ASIC miners can mine Curecoin and contribute to securing the blockchain.
There are three main beneficiaries of Curecoin funds:
- Folders: Receive 76% of the total coins for their contributions to computational power.
- Miners: Receive 19% of the total coins for their work in securing the blockchain.
- Developers: Receive 5% of the total funds for development costs and community activities.
