Cortex is designed to enable the deployment of advanced AI models on a blockchain. The platform includes AI algorithms that support the creation of smart contracts and allows users to upload and use AI models on the Cortex public chain. The incentives are built in a way that rewards contributors of AI models, and it supports various AI applications and tasks.

Architecture

Cortex uses a public chain where data models are stored. These models can be accessed and used by any node on the network. Users can make inferences using these models, and they have to pay the model contributors for each inference. Cortex uses a unique virtual machine called the CVM for inferences. Each time a transaction is executed, it synchronizes the model and data from the storage layer to the local site. After that, the results are synchronized across the whole network, and the user receives the result.

Pricing Unit

The platform operates with two tokens: Cortex Coins (CTXC) and Endorphins. Endorphins are the pricing unit for transactions on the Cortex. It is used to pay for inferences, smart contract execution, and other activities within the network.

Goals

Cortex aims to create a functioning "artificial general intelligence" (AGI) on its platform. The project also includes an incentive mechanism to encourage collaborative development of AI models. It will allow researchers and users to create, submit, optimize, and use AI models within a blockchain-based ecosystem.

Token Information

Cortex completed a private token sale in February 2018. The total supply of CTXC tokens is 299,792,458. The tokens are divided among different groups: mining rewards (50.03%), project foundation (24.95%), advisors, academia, and the community (5%). The distribution included reserve allocations for mining, foundation, advisory, and community roles.
