ConstitutionDAO (Wormhole) is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that aimed to raise funds to buy a rare copy of the US Constitution at an auction held by Sotheby's. Contributors received governance tokens, initially called $PEOPLE and later planned to be rebranded to $WTP, which granted them voting rights over the document. The project successfully raised $47 million but lost the auction, after which refunds were made available to the community. Today, $PEOPLE tokens hold no governance or utility, although some community members use them in future projects.
