During its initial distribution, users who held accounts with positive balances in Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin received approximately 4.6 CLAMs. This was achieved through the Proof-of-Chain protocol, which ensured a significant initial market presence.

The project then transitioned to Proof-of-Working-Stakes, designed by the Clams team, ensuring a secure network while reducing power consumption. This system randomly selects one user every minute for transaction processing, rewarding them with 1 CLAM.

CLAMs were initially distributed to approximately 3,208,032 addresses based on a May 12, 2014, snapshot of the Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin blockchains. Each address received 4.60545574 CLAMs. As of now, the network is secured solely through Proof-of-Stake, eliminating the need for a Proof-of-Work stage.
