Overview
Casper Network is a future-proof Layer 1 proof-of-stake (PoS) public blockchain. It is designed to accelerate enterprise and developer adoption of blockchain technology and evolve to meet user needs in the future.
Architecture
Casper is a live proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchain built off the Casper CBC specification, which aims to improve blockchain performance. Node operators 'stake' their CSPR tokens to participate in the Casper Network’s Consensus Protocol.
Delegation
Delegation allows users to allocate their CSPR tokens to chosen validators on the network, enabling them to earn rewards without the need to operate a Casper node themselves. Validators set their own fee and earn rewards for their staked tokens, while helping to improve decentralization and security.
Consensus Protocol
The Casper CBC protocol uses a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, where validators propose and approve new blocks without the need for mining. This method ensures not only improved performance but also promotes a more environmentally friendly blockchain operation.
