Bitmeme is a bitcoin fork that uses SHA-256 for consensus and operates with no central authority, instead being run collectively by meme-ers across the globe. It is open-source and public, with participation open to anyone. Bitmeme will initially be an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum Network, allowing the team to grow and provide numerical evidence that the Bitmeme fork could succeed. There will collectively be 500,000 tokens airdropped to early DAO token supporters and influencers, with another 500,000 available for Bitcoin holders. Every token airdropped or purchased will represent a future BitMeme coin on the BitMeme Network. Transactions will be fast with low processing fees, and payments can be made worldwide.
