About BitCore
BitCore is a cryptocurrency that is a UTXO fork of Bitcoin. It uses Bitcoin's source code and technology to create a new blockchain, focusing on reducing the blockchain size and improving scalability. Block timings in BitCore are faster than Bitcoin, making mining ASIC-resistant. BitCore created its new blockchain on April 24, 2017, taking a snapshot of Bitcoin transactions and generating 5 million transactions to fill public addresses belonging to individuals owning 0.01 BTC or more.
Consensus Algorithm
BitCore employs the MEGA-BTX consensus algorithm, which is ASIC-resistant. This design ensures that mining power remains decentralized, providing equal opportunities for all participants. Additionally, BitCore features 10 MB Segwit-enabled blocks, allowing the network to handle up to 17.6 billion transactions per year or 48 million transactions per day.
Mining and Masternodes
BitCore is notable for offering both Proof of Work (PoW) and Masternode options for mining, making it accessible to a broader range of users. BTX holders can also mine using both PoW and Masternodes, further increasing the possibilities for community engagement.
