Bitconnect
Bitconnect was a high-yield investment lending platform operating in the crypto sector. It most famously developed a classic Ponzi scheme, promising investors significant returns and paying out interest using newly pledged loans. Founded in 2016, Bitconnect was noted for its extremely high returns and soon became infamous after shutting down in January 2018, when the scam came to light. The platform utilized a token called BCC, which saw dramatic value fluctuations before ultimately plummeting to zero.
