Bellscoin (BEL) is an Animal Crossing-inspired digital currency, originally introduced on November 28, 2013. It was created by Billy Markus, who would later go on to found Dogecoin. The project is based on a proof-of-work consensus algorithm using Scrypt and employs a unique rewarding system.

• Total coin supply of 500,000,000 BEL
• Block targets set at 1 minute and difficulty readjustments every 4 hours
• Reward structure includes halving at block 129,600 and progressive decreases thereafter
• Multi-block reward system with varying probabilities:
  • 50 coins (50% chance)
  • 100 coins (20% chance)
  • 250 coins (14% chance)
  • 500 coins (10% chance)
  • 1000 coins (5% chance)
