BattleRoyale
BattleRoyale is a project inspired by the 2000 Japanese cult film Battle Royale, in which characters must fight each other to survive. The project incorporates the popular multiplayer gameplay concept of battle royale, where players compete against each other on a large virtual map, aiming to be the last one standing.
This format combines scavenging elements with survival mechanics, where players collect loot and fight to stay alive within an ever-shrinking safe zone. BattleRoyale also includes various gaming modes, allowing for solo gameplay or teaming up in groups to compete against other players.
The name "battle royale" can be traced back to the original Japanese film, where students are forced to participate in a deadly game, sparking a genre of multiplayer video games. Since then, the concept has evolved to include different game modes and special twists, such as revive options or special character abilities.
Games that have inspired BattleRoyale include PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds [PUBG] and Fortnite: Battle Royale.
