ApeDAO is the decentralized governance framework for the ApeCoin ecosystem. It leverages the APE utility token to create a community-driven governance model. This empowers APE token holders to participate in voting and steering the direction of the ApeCoin projects.
The ApeDAO includes a treasury and ecosystem fund, which is dedicated to developing products and services that benefit the ApeCoin community. It also interfaces with the Ape Foundation, a central legal entity responsible for implementing the decisions made by the ApeDAO.

Ape Foundation
- Role: Oversees and executes decisions made by the ApeDAO.
- Responsibilities: Manages day-to-day administration, bookkeeping, and project management.
Ape Improvement Proposal (AIP) Process
- Purpose: Allows proposals for system improvements and ecosystem fund allocations.
- Submission: AIP ideas are submitted and reviewed via the Discourse platform.
- Approval: Proposals go through a voting process using Snapshot, ensuring transparency and equal participation among APE holders.
- Implementation: Approved proposals are implemented by the project management team engaged by the APE Foundation.
Voting Mechanism
- Snapshot: Voting tool chosen for transparency and affordability.
- Voting Process: Moderators post AIPs to Snapshot on specified Thursdays; voting window lasts 13 days.
- Voting Options: In favor, against, and abstain.
- Voting Rights: One APE equals one vote, with votes rounded down if fractional tokens are owned.
