Altered State Machine (ASM) is a decentralized protocol for creating and managing Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents using non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The official token of the ASM ecosystem is ASTO, an ERC-20 utility token. ASTO is used for various purposes within the ASM ecosystem, including AI agent training, DAO governance, minting NFTs, in-game transactions, and asset creation.

ASM Platform

The ASM platform allows users to create and own AI agents represented by NFTs, each comprising a brain, memories, and a form. These agents can be trained in "gyms" using machine learning models and can be used in various applications such as games, financial markets, virtual assistants, and more. ASM provides the frameworks for hardware owners to participate in these processes and profit from GPU time provision.

Governance

ASTO tokens are used for governance through the ElderDAO, currently under development. Holders of ASTO tokens will play a crucial role in guiding the future of the ASM protocol.

Patent

Altered State Machine has filed for a patent that allows for the ownership of AI ML models via NFTs, providing a unique position in the evolving NFT and AI landscape.

Proof-of-Concept

A technical proof-of-concept for the ASM protocol has been completed, showcasing the power of ASM using the UNITY game engine, IPFS file storage, and a demo ML gym. This PoC demonstrates how ASM can bring AI agents to real-world use cases, such as gaming.
