Project Description
AGOUTI is a tool designed to improve the assembly and annotation of genomic data using RNA sequencing information. It works by building an edge-weighted adjacency graph from contigs, where edges are weighted by the number of supporting joining-pairs of RNA-seq reads. This graph is then simplified, and scaffold paths are generated by following the highest-weighted edges starting from leaf nodes. AGOUTI can also handle assemblies in both contig and scaffold forms and detects inconsistencies between the RNA-based scaffolding and the original scaffolding.
